To be the Church that You would Desire...

Open our Eyes...
To see the things that make Your heart cry...
To be the Church that You would desire...
Your light to be seen

Break down our pride...
And all the walls we've built up inside...
Our earthly crowns and all our desires...
We lay at Your feet

Let hope RISE...
Darkness TREMBLE in Your Holy light...
Every eye will see JESUS OUR GOD...
Great and Mighty to be praised
God of ALL days...
Glorious in all Your ways...
The Majesty, the Wonder, and Grace
In the light of Your name

James 5:20

remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

your FIRST love

You might tell yourself everyday:
"I am a man of great deeds!" GREAT!
"I am a man who works hard and perseveres in everything I do!" GREAT!
"I cannot tolerate wicked men, and I test the heart of men!" GREAT!
"I have never grown weary for the Gospel, I have endured hardship for the name of Jesus!" GREAT!

But look at what Jesus spoke to the Church in Ephesus (Revelation 2:2-4)

"I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love"

It IS possible that in all the wonderful works you do, there is something you have forgotten; something that has been missing.. Go back to the source and REMEMBER your first love- his name is Jesus Christ! And if you have forgotten this first love, then he holds something against you

The Two Boxes

I have in my hands two boxes,
Which God gave me to hold.
He said, "Put all your sorrows in the black box,
And all your joys in the gold."

I heeded His words, and in the two boxes,
Both my joys and sorrows I stored,
But though the gold became heavier each day,
The black was as light as before.

With curiosity, I opened the black,
I wanted to find out why,
And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole,
Which my sorrows had fallen out by.

I showed the hole to God, and mused,
"I wonder where my sorrows could be!"
He smiled a gentle smile and said,
"My child, they're all here with me.."

I asked God, why He gave me the boxes,
Why the gold and the black with the hole?
"My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings,
The black is for you to let stroll."

UNITED- The Time Has Come

Found love beyond all reason
You gave Your life Your all for me
And called me Yours forever

Caught in the mercy fallout
I found hope, found life, found all I need
You're all I need

The time has come to stand for all we believe in
So I for one am gonna give my praise to You, Jesus

Today today it's all or nothing, all the way
The praise goes out to You! Yeh all the praise goes out to You!
Today today I live for one thing
To give you praise in everything I do
Yeh all the praise goes out to You!

All we are is Yours, and all we're living for is all You are!
Is all that You are LORD

The Cross

-         “No cross, No Christian”

-         Galatians 6:14- May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ

-         German Poet, Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe said “ The Christian religion, though scattered and abroad will in the end gather itself together at the foot of the cross"

Delirious- Jesus' Blood

There's a secret I must tell
Of all the love I've found
And it's hidden in my heart
The day You tore my world apart

Hallelujah, King forever, friend and Saviour

Jesus' blood never fails me,
Jesus' blood never fails me,
Jesus' blood, Jesus' blood

And this secret, it will run
To the corners of the earth
Where every woman, every son
Will carry high their chains undone

Sing your songs of freedom
Praise the God of heaven
Love that never fails me
Jesus' blood, Jesus' blood

You are an AMBASSADOR!

An Ambassador may be defined as a diplomatic agent of the highest rank who represents his or her country’s interests in another country. The Greek word for ‘ambassador’ is ‘presbeu’ and literally means ‘to be an ambassador’.

As Christians we are called to be Christ's ambassadors!

2 Corinthians 5:20- We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.

As ambassadors:

  • We are called to high office! An ambassadors life may consist of glamour, luxury, functions, parties, and access to high political and social leaders. However with the glitz comes the grit- there is a tough job to do.
  • We live in 2 countries! We are citizens in the Kingdom of God, however strangers in a world that does not acknowledge His rule.
  • We speak on behalf of our king and saviour! Christians represent Christ to the world through the power of the Holy Spirit. We speak up for His concerns in all areas of life. This means we cannot restrict ambassadorial duties to the ‘embassy’, which is the church. While we invite people to visit us, we need to take our message into their world.

Paul writes in Ephesians 6:20 that he is an ambassador in chains. No matter how hard the times may get, remember who you are representing because he remembered you throughout the toughest time a person has ever experienced!

Go, and be an ambassador for your King!

Quick Revelation about John the Baptist

John wore clothes made of camel's hair, and strapped a leather belt around his waist. His food consisted of locusts and wild honey. The thing I love and admire about this man, is the fact that he was such a man of God, and had so much power in his actions and words, that people went to hear him preach out in the desert where he lived- he didn't need to go to people (Matthew 3:1-6).

Jesus made a comment about him in Matthew 11:11, "I tell you the truth: Among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist." Awesome comment hey?

But here's what hit me.. In Matthew 3:11, John stated that "after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry.." The man he was talking about was Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah, the Christ, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Son of God who laid his life down for YOU.. Tell me, what is your attitude to him?

Romans 8:38-39

For I am convinced that neither death nor life,
neither angels nor demons,
neither the present nor the future,
nor any powers,
neither height nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us from the
love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 Chronicles 7:14

IF my people, who are called by my name,
will humble themselves
and pray
and seek my face
and turn from their wicked ways,
I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land

The Levites!

Let's have a look at the promises made to the Levites:
1) They were blessed by the LORD (Exodus 32:29)
2) The Levites were placed in charge of the tabernacle of the Testimony (Numbers 1:51)
3) "The Levites are mine!" Says the Lord (Numbers 3:12)
4) Given wholly to Aaron and his sons (Numbers 3:9)
5) The Levites were set apart from the rest of Israel, to become priests (Numbers 8:5-26)
6) The LORD is their inheritance (Deuteronomy 10:9)

---------------------------

Why so many amazing promises? This is their story...
The story of the Levites starts in Genesis 29:34. Leah, a wife of Jacob, conceived and named him Levi, which sounds like and may be derived from the Hebrew for 'attached'- we can see that the Levites were destined to be attached to the LORD.

But the real story comes from Exodus 32. Moses had just been at the top of Mount Sinai for 40 days and 40 nights receiving the law from the LORD. He came back down the mountain to find the people 'running wild and out of control- a laughingstock to their enemies'.
He called to Israel (verse 26) and said "Whoever is for the LORD, come to me." And ALL the LEVITES rallied to him. Then Moses said, "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'Each man strap a sword to his side. Go back and forth through the camp from one end to the other, each killing his brother and friend and neighbour.' " The Levites did as Moses commanded, and that day about 3000 people died. Then Moses said to the Levites, "You have been set apart to the LORD today, for you were against your own sons and brothers, and he has blessed you this day..."

---------------------------

Would you like to receive those promises listed above: to be blessed by the LORD, and set apart? My challenge to you is: are you prepared to stand up against your own sons and brothers when they are against the LORD? Are you prepared to answer the call "Is anyone for the LORD?", when no one else, in a whole nation, is prepared to?

Can you hear the call of the Lord "WHOEVER IS FOR ME, COME TO ME!"

Isaiah 55:11

Too often as a Christian, I feel scared to preach the Gospel; to open my mouth and tell of what God has done for my life; to preach the truth and give words of life that will give purpose and direction for those that have not experienced the love of Christ. I ask myself questions: will I be good enough? Will I be timid? Am I creating a gate or adding to the fence? How will they react? Will I be able to answer their questions?....

The words of Isaiah 55:11 are a promise made to all believers that if they just open their mouth and preach His heart, His gospel, and His message, those words (and the actions that accompany those words) will ALWAYS be successful!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The Lord speaks:

so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it (NIV)

So will the words that come out of my mouth not come back empty--handed. They'll do the work I sent them to do, they'll complete the assignment I gave them (Message)

It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. (NLT)

That's how it is with my words. They don't return to me without doing everything I send them to do (CEV)

More of You Jesus!

I will worship You with all my heart
I will worship You with all of my mind
I will worship You with all of my strength
You are my Lord

More love
More power
More of You in my life

More faith
More Passion
More of You in my life

The Days of Your Youth!

Ecclesiastes 11:9
Be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth

Ecclesiastes 12:1
Remember your Creator in the days of your youth

Ezekiel 16:22
In all your detestable practices and your prostitution you did not remember the days of your youth

Ezekiel 16:43
Because you did not remember the days of your youth but enraged me with all these things, I will surely bring down on your head what you have done, declares the Sovereign LORD

Ezekiel 16:60
Yet I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you

"How are you living the days of your youth?"

From the Gospels!

Father, we thank you that:

  • You came to seek and to save what was lost
  • We live on Your every Word
  • With You, all things are possible
  • You came to serve and to give Your life as a ransom for many
  • Your words will never pass away
  • You came to call the sinners and not the 'righteous'
  • You were anointed to preach good news to the poor
  • You were sent to proclaim freedom for the prisoners, and recovery of sight for the blind
  • You were sent to release the oppressed and to proclaim the year of the Lord's favour!
  • You came to bring fire and a sword to earth
  • You are the bread of life- he who comes to You will never go hungry, and he who believes in You will never be thirsty
  • You will never drive anyone away
  • You are the light of the world
  • You came that we may have life, and have it to the full
  • You are the good shepherd who lays down his life for the sheep
  • You have overcome the world

You are the way and the truth and the life!

Parable TWO- The Lost Son (Luke 15:11-32)

Jesus told this parable to the tax collectors and "sinners" who were gathering around to hear him. They muttered, "This man welcomes sinners and eats with them." In response, Jesus shared with them a parable.

The parable tells of a man who had 2 sons. The younger one asked for a share of the estate, and so the father divided his property between them. Not long after that, the young son gathered all he had and set off for a distant land and squandered ALL his wealth in wild living.

He was sent to feed pigs and it came to the stage where he longed to fill his stomach with the pods the pigs were eating. He eventually came to his senses and set back for home.

The son felt he was not worthy to be called his fathers son, but the father welcomed him home with open arms and a celebration. The older son became angry, but the father replied "We have to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found."
------------------------
Maybe you were once close to God, but you set off for a distant country, and completely turned your back on him and spent everything. You turned to earthly values rather than eternal ones. You turned to sex, money, pornography, or your tongue for comfort. These pleasures will go as quickly as they came. Put your hope and trust in the LORD.

I'm telling you that you need to come to your senses. You need to return to your father who you are worthy of! Even if you feel a long way off, he will see you and be filled with compassion! He will run to you and put a robe on you, a ring on your finger and sandals on your feet. He will kill the fattened calf for the feast and celebration!

The Bible claims that there is more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous people who do not need to repent. Let the celebration begin!
